Travel Poster Visitad Burgos Spain Medieval City Cid Campeador. Original vintage travel poster - Visitad Burgos la Ciudad del Cid Campeador / Visit Burgos the City of Cid Campeador - featuring stunning artwork by the Spanish painter Jose Segrelles Albert (1885-1969) depicting the spires of the gothic Cathedral of Saint Mary of Burgos rising dramatically into the sky over the historic city of Burgos in Spain, the CET lion logo above and stylised bold title text below. Construction of the cathedral began in 1221 and it was consecrated in 1260. Known as El Cid or El Campeador the medieval knight and warlord Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar (c.1043-1099) reigned as Prince of Valencia from 1094 until his death, becoming a legendary figure and a popular national hero of Spain.
