Original vintage advertising program The American Ballet, featuring photographs and articles on George Balanchine, the ballet master of the American Ballet Company, Edward Warburg, the director, images of the artists from Alma Mater, Dreams, Reminescence, Serenade, Transcendence, Errante (The Wanderer), and Mozartiana performances. Founded in 1935, the American Ballet was a short-lived ballet company founded by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein, aimed at establishing a distinct American ballet tradition. This company, along with the School of American Ballet, laid the groundwork for the later formation of the New York City Ballet. Printed by Gibbs Press, Inc., New York. Good condition, paper losses in margins, minor tears, ink writing, staining.
