Original antique nationalist, anti-Semitic, anti-Masonic and anti-Dreyfusard caricature poster from the series Musee des Horrors drawn by Victor Lenepveu between 1899 and 1900. Poster number 40 is titled Un Caiman mystifie / A mystified caiman depicting a surprised Leonce de Sal, lawyer, senator and judge of high court taking out small rubber caimans and saucepans out of his hat. 'Caiman' is a nickname given to senators, while saucepan is slang term for 'informant'. Printed by Lenepveu, Paris. Good condition, paper losses on edges, tears on edges, creasing, minor staining.
