Original vintage advertising poster for Rose Marie a musical comedy presented by James Shirvell, music by Rudolph Friml ad Herbert Stothart, book and lyrics by Otto Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein. The musical stage play Rose Marie was performed on Broadway in 1924 and brough over to London where it had succes and ran for two years. It became a success in Paris and ws performed for quite a few years. This poster was produced for a travelling performance of this musical. The poster features a lady in a yellow dress with a flower in her hair hugging a gentleman in a Royal Canadian Mounted Police uniform, a Native American Indian man in a feather headdress by a totem pole, and dancing ladies in colourful costumes in front of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The musical tells a love story of a French Canadian girl. Large size. Good condition, folds, tears on edges, creasing, minor staining, 3 sheet poster.
