Diplome d'Honneur du Travail 1890 / Gd. Honorary Diploma of Labor 1890, bold black and blue lettering over yellow background. The Davis Sewing Machine Company was established in 1868 in New York producing unconventional "vertical feed" sewing machines with two presser feet, the company was awarded for improvements in the existing shuttle designs, later starting to manufacture bicycles, until liquidating in 1924.
