Travel Poster Cunard White Star RMS Berengaria Cruise Ocean Liner. Original vintage cruise travel poster Cunard White Star RMS Berengaria featuring an illustration in black and white depicting the ocean liner at sea with a smaller passenger boat, convoy vessel, and a lighthouse on the pier. The British shipping company Cunard White Star Line was founded in 1934 by Cunard (founded 1840) and White Star Line (1845-1934) providing passenger and shipping transportation services on the transatlantic route until 1949 when Cunard bought out White Star. The ocean liner was built for Hamburg America Line and launched in 1912 under the name SS Imperator; in 1919 it was handed over to Britain as part of war reparations and sailed for Cunard Line as RMS Berengaria from 1919-1934, and for Cunard White Star Line from 1934 to 1938, until it was scrapped during the World War Two.
