Original vintage travel advertising poster published by the Chemin de Fer du Nord / French Northern Railway to promote the northern French town of St Valery-sur-Somme - 3 hours from Paris and 4 hours from London - a popular tourist destination. Great design featuring a hunter with a gun ready to shoot at birds flying overhead and a man sitting on a basket next to fish on the banks of the river Somme in the foreground with boats sailing by the historical buildings of the town centre nestled between trees on the horizon and two inset images depicting the historical city gate landmarks of the Porte Guillaume / Guillaume's Gate (1788) in the top right corner and the 16th century Porte de Nevers / Gate of Nevers in the bottom left corner, the title text above in red letters. Printed by Imp. Gaillac - Monrocq Cie, Paris. Good condition, restored minor loss, folds and tears, light pencil writing in the upper margin, backed on linen. Country of issue: France, designer: L.
