Art Deco Book Ludwig Hohlwein Posters. Original vintage reference book on Ludwig Hohlwein (1874-1949), poster artist and pioneer of the Sachplakat style. In English and German. Compiled and edited by Prof H K Frenzel, with an introduction by Dr W Schubert. Published by Phonix Illustrationsdruck und Verlag, Berlin, 1926. Text is divided into three sections: 'Ludwig Hohlwein and German Commercial Art', 'The Hohlwein Poster' and 'Graphik in Small Format'. The book contains full page colour and black and white reproductions of Hohlwein's poster designs. Hardback, 73 pages, 223 illustrations. The book spine is damaged, the colour is faded on the cover corners and spine, minor stain, light browning. Inside the pages are in very good condition.
