British Elections Poster Britain's Hope Under Tories Baldwin Liberal Party Plan. Original vintage political propaganda poster for the 1929 United Kingdom general election - Britain's hope under the Tories. Thank you, Mr. Baldwin but we prefer the Liberal Plan - featuring a caricature of the Conservative Party Leader Stanley Baldwin holding a broccoli with a Union Jack flag tied to it, smaller print reads - Hoisting the Broccoli standard "We are recovering in the world our competitive power, our trade is definitely improving... Imagine with what pleasure I learned the other day that our English Broccoli have begun to penetrate the Continental markets in spite of all handicaps. That is an example of what can be done."
