Reproduction of Magna Carta of 1215, featuring an image of one of surviving exemplifications of the 1215 text. Magna Carta Libertatum or Great Charter of Freedoms, is a royal charter of rights accepted by King John of England on 15 June 1215 to make peace between the king and a group of rebel barons, it was drafted by Archbishop of Canterbury Cardinal Stephen Langton; only four exemplifications of the 1215 text have survived until the modern day, two are stored at the British Library, one in Lincoln Castle and one in Salisbury Cathedral.
