War Poster London Underground WWI War Work Set Hartrick Lithograph. Set of 12 original antique lithographs issued by the London Transport- War Work 1914-1918, Playing the Game. Images were designed by a Scottish painter Archibald Standish Hartrick (1864-1950) A.R.W.S., depicting British transport workers. Each lithograph is a composite picture and shows, on a background of the war a type of man or woman employed by the Allied Companies, carrying on essential worker here, and thereby in most cases releasing a man for often identical duties in connection with the fighting at the Front: both so "Playing The Game" together at their Country's call. The lithographs include the Motor man, Ticket collector, Lorry-body makers, Signalman, Bus conductor, Lift girl, Women fitters, Shell turners, Bus driver, Gatewoman, Platelayers, Women painters. Fair condition, tears, restored paper losses, staining, foxing, creasing, tape on cover and pages.
