Modernist Poster Theo Ballmer Uhu Fabric. Original vintage advertising poster for Uhu-Line featuring a fun design by the notable Swiss Modernist graphic designer Theo Balmer (1902-1965) of a character standing on a tube of Uhu-Line, holding an unplugged electric iron in one hand with the other hand hidden under an oversized white shirt against a blue background, the text in German below reading: even one teaspoon works wonders on the laundry / schon 1 Teeloffel wirkt Wunder auf die Wasche. Developed in the 1950s by the German manufacturer of glues and adhesives, Uhu-Line was invented to keep fabric and collars stiff to make them practically as "new from the shop" after cleaning.
