Midcentury Modern Poster E55 Energy Event Post WWII Reconstruction. Original vintage Dutch propaganda poster published to promote the E55 event held in Rotterdam from 18 May to 3 September 1955. Fantastic mid-century modern design combining colourful geometric shapes and an image of a young child jumping to catch a ball with the text reading: Image of a people in action... struggle and result of Dutch energy... perspective of a new era. The E55 National Energy Event celebrated 10 years of the rebuilding of Rotterdam after World War Two and after the 1953 flood disaster under the theme of "the reconstruction of the destroyed city and the desire to overcome difficulties" with companies taking the opportunity to display and promote new products and innovations including television and media, aerospace and mining.
